I'm not sure how many evenings you have available, but I believe both the shops(midtown and Papillion) have spare CycleOps trainers and "trainer nights" all winter long. They usually charge to borrow them for the night, but maybe for a shop employee they'd let you slide? That'd be a question for Bryan.

Then on the weekend, with a gravel grinder bike, you could do base mile rides. Just a hint though, those gravel rides that happen down South with Shim, Kev, and Brady? They are NOT base miles. They are equivalent to Wednesday Night Worlds. I promise you that. There's not too many people who can go for real base mile rides. I mean, it's not hard - you just stay in the small chainring, pedal easy, and chat for a few hours. But for some reason, nearly every group ride turns into a hammerfest.

But I digress...

If you can make your current trainer work for 1 or 2 easy spins during the week, use a nice trainer during the trainer nights at either shop, then have the weekends to spend a few hours spinning and grinning on a new bike, I'd say you'd be pretty good. At least, that's the route I think I'd take.munsonedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00878330049549526023noreply@blogger.com
